The incredibly smooth and robust flavor of Suavecito Tequila starts with our Blanco. Made from 100% Weber blue agave grown at 7,000 ft in the Central Highlands of Mexico, we distill this foundational tequila using traditional techniques but create a spirit that’s distinctly its own. While irresistible neat, our Blanco mixes perfectly in any type of cocktail.
Our Reposado rests for eight months in retired American Oak Bourbon barrels. Given more time to mature, our Reposado acquires additional characteristics of the wood from the barrel, which imparts delicate notes of vanilla and a light honey-colored hue. This a rested tequila meant for sipping when sharing stories with friends.
Suavecito Reposado Cristalino
We start with our award winning Suavecito Reposado Tequila and take it to another level to expertly craft our Suavecito Cristalino. A charcoal filtration process pulls the color from our Reposado and enhances the barrel-rested tequila with floral and fruity notes that intrigue the senses and delight the palate. The Cristalino presents an aged flavor that any clear tequila drinker can appreciate.
Aged for two years in retired American Oak Bourbon barrels, our Suavecito Añejo perfectly captures the adage that good things come to those that wait. A deep amber color highlights a bold yet remarkably smooth flavor that must be tried to be believed. A perfect representation of the spirit of aged tequila, our Añejo honors the proud tradition and craft of making a superior tasting tequila that deserves to be savored.
Suavecito Extra Añejo
Our small batch barrel-aged Suavecito Extra Añejo matures in retired American Oak Bourbon barrels for five years, adding layers of sophistication and a deep, robust flavor until finally ready to showcase its dark caramel color and remarkably smooth finish. This is a tequila best sipped at special occasions, moments to be remembered, or whenever the need for a superb tequila arises.
Enjoy Suavecito Tequila
All tequila is made from Weber blue agave, a succulent plant that grows primarily in the Jalisco region of Mexico. Much as Champagne can only be made in France and Bourbon in the U.S., tequila can only be made in the state of Jalisco, Mexico. There are two main categories of tequila — 100% blue agave and mixto. 100% blue agave is tequila made entirely from the Weber blue agave plant, while mixto tequila is made from 51% agave and 49% filler, usually a combination of other sugars and caramel coloring.
Spanish for “white,” this a clear tequila that has not been aged in oak barrels. Blanco is often used in margaritas and mixed cocktails.
This newly trending tequila is aged in oak barrels and is then run through a charcoal filtration process to remove the color and some of the woodier notes imparted from the barrel. It has the complexity and character of an aged tequila with the crisp, bright notes of a blanco.
Spanish for “rested,” this tequila is aged in oak barrels for at least two months but no more than one year. Reposado has a light amber color and a smooth and mellow flavor.
Spanish for “old,” this tequila is aged for at least one year but no more than three. Añejo features a darker color and a more complex flavor profile.
The newest category of tequila was first established by the Tequila Regulatory Council in 2006. This premium tequila is aged in oak barrels for a minimum of three years.
How is Suavecito made?
We craft Suavecito Tequila using traditional, time-honored tequila production methods. First, we harvest the mountain-grown Weber blue agave from our fields in the highlands of Central Mexico by hand before cooking the agave to break down the plant’s fibers to release the natural sugars within. The cooked agave is then milled to extract the juice and fermented in tanks for several days. The fermented juice is then distilled in copper pots to produce our Suavecito Blanco tequila. We then double-age our Suavecito Reposado tequila and Suavecito Añejo tequila in retired American Oak Bourbon barrels for between eight months for our Reposado and five years for our Suavecito Extra Anejo. Finally, we finish our tequila by returning 2% agave nectar to create an exceptionally smooth and easy-to-drink tequila that must be tried to be believed.
How should I drink Suavecito?
Suavecito Tequila is meant to be enjoyed however you prefer to drink tequila. The smooth, easy drinking quality of our blanco tequila makes it the perfect choice for mixing margaritas and cocktails of every flavor profile. If you’re looking for an easy sipping tequila similar in profile to a quality whiskey, you may consider trying the Suavecito Añejo. If looking for something to sip or use in a cocktail, the Suavecito Reposado makes an excellent choice that’s perfect no matter how you enjoy it.
Is tequila a low-calorie spirit?
Yes, tequila has fewer calories than any other spirit at just 68 calories an ounce. This makes tequila an excellent option for those who enjoy a low-calorie spirit.
How does Suavecito compare to other top-shelf tequilas?
A bottle of tequila with a leather label doesn’t always signify quality. It’s the process, craft, love, and attention to detail that separates the quality of one rested tequila from another. Unlike most other top-shelf tequilas, we extend the aging process for Suavecito Tequila to create a smoother, more robust flavor profile. Suavecito Tequila is the only tequila with agave nectar on the market. The 2% agave nectar we add back to our tequila eliminates any unwanted burning sensation and helps make Suavecito so incredibly smooth.
